KTime Comfort:  Today at my house we are looking forward to a football playoff game.   I have lined up a simple knitting project to work on during the game and I am planning a hamburger and fries supper.  We worked hard doing chores yesterday so today we are just going to take things slow and snuggly.

KTime Comfort:  Today I am cleaning my purse.  Ok I admit it – I buy purses the way some women buy shoes.  So as part of enjoying my collection I am trying to set aside time one day each week to empty my purse and change into a new bag for the coming week.  Otherwise I end up with all kinds of things hiding in there.  Would you be embarrassed if your purse got turned upside down?  Then take a few minutes and freshen up.  And maybe dream of a new one for Easter.

KTime Quote:  Everything that we see is shadow cast by that which we do not see. – Martin Luther King Jr.

KTime Comfort:  As part of my yearly plan to create comfort I have set aside time on Thursdays for hand crafts.  I will let way too much time pass on my projects otherwise.  I love having handmade items ready for gifts but if I wait until the occasion is on top of me it is too late.  So part of my creating comfort is to start a gift space that has handmade items ready to go.  Either items that I have made or that another person has made.  But a drawer with beautiful papers, soaps, knitted items, and other handmade items of whimsy that reminds me of someone sounds like a wonderful comfort spot when gift giving occasions come around.  A friend announces a pregnancy – one baby blanket is ready to go.  Someone moves – new stationary so they can announce the change of address.  Plus the usual holidays of birthdays and Christmas.  So start now and if you can make things yourself start stocking your gift space.  If you have more thumbs than not then check out local craft fairs, etsy and out of the way shops.  I would much rather spend an hour looking at beautiful handmade objects than watch another TV rerun.

Hope can make great things happen.  It already has.  – Woman’s World

Time to create comfort for Saturday.  We are in the middle of a home redo.  We are changing how two rooms are used and this involves emptying out both rooms, cleaning, sorting and putting back just what we want in the new spaces.  It is amazing how much stuff we can collect.  It is also past time for a grocery store run since we were too sick to shop last week.  So today is looking pretty busy at our house.  I am thinking of something quick and easy for supper.  And maybe curling up with a good book after I do the supper dishes.  So line up something good to read – and no your emails from work do not count and join me in a comforting evening.

Someone admires you more than you realize – Women’s World

Creating Comfort at the end of the first full week after the holidays will help set the tone for the weekend.  It is hard getting back in the groove.  We have had record breaking cold, extra work after being off for the holidays, and the next vacation seems too far away.  Welcome friends and family to a Friday night of comfort.  Fix something wonderful to eat, clear off space on the sofa and pop in a movie.  Maybe add a bottle of wine.

Have you slipped on your resolutions for the year?  Just pick yourself up and start again.  It is okay to slip and fall.  We just need to keep on trying.  My resolution or phrase for the year is to create comfort.  It is hard to do when dealing with an illness.  So today I am clearing my slate to take care of me.  Time to stay home, rest, read if I can, watch a little TV and give myself head to toe pampering.  Wash my hair, do my nails and toes, and pay extra attention to skin care.  And I don’t have to do it all at once.  Not today anyway.  The job, the other family members, and my chore list are all going to have to do without me today.  I no longer have small children to take care of so the world won’t mind if I step off and rest today.  I will create comfort by taking good care of myself.

Today did not get off to a great start in my household.  We are all still feeling the head cold.  The adult kid who has postponed his eye doctor appointment for months has lost his last contact lens.  The significant other is looking at a thermostat that needs replacing and a possible plumber call.  I still don’t feel 100% myself and anything longer than a few minutes on the computer makes my eyes tear.  We don’t have Monday’s in my household.  We have Wednesday’s.  So I need to start over all ready and it is only 6:15 in the morning.  Here’s to a better end to the day than it started.
